Summary
Lt. Joe Leaphorn and Officer Jim Chee of the Navajo Tribal Police investigate the murder of medicine man Roman George, who has left a partially completed pictograph at the crime scene. A clue to his killer? Chee thinks so, since he himeself is studying to be a medicine man with his form guardian, Wilson Sam. Once clue sends chills through the young officer: an arrow used in the killing has a tip of human bone, a sign that a Navajo spirit -- a "skinwalker" -- is at work
